Ashraf residents exiled to “Liberty” to suffocate Iran opposition: Zafer al-Ani

Senior Iraqiya Coalition member Dr. Zafer al-Ani described the objective of exiling Ashraf residents to “Liberty” as suffocating the Iranian opposition.
Dr. Zafer al-Ani called on US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to take a clear position on this issue, especially since she had given assurances to follow up on the issue of Ashraf residents and to have international human rights standards provided in the new camp.
This Iraqiya Coalition senior member added the images seen and the reports from various credible sources indicate Camp “Liberty” is not adequate for living in humanitarian terms. He added UN Secretary General’s Special Representative to Iraq Martin Kobler has wrongly explained UN resolutions in this regard. Recognizing refugees in Camp Ashraf as legal refugees will provide them international legal status that does not allow them to be held in prisons or detention centers, al-Ani continued.
Iraqi nationalist forces have no national interest in the Iranian opposition being suffocated and their voices silenced, al-Ani continued, adding this is nothing but being at the service of the velayat-e faqih in Tehran who continues to implement the most devious and evil methods against the Iraqi people.
Dr. Zafer al-Ani added he requested to visit Liberty but they are banned and even human rights organizations are also banned from going to Liberty and there is no reason at all for the residents to be transferred to any other location.
