Al-Rafidain TV reported Iraqiya Coalition spokesman Heidar al-Mulla saying the Ashraf dossier must be resolved based on international standards and the Fourth Geneva Convention.
Al-Mulla said the current government’s insistence to transfer Camp Ashraf residents to Liberty and not allowing the UN to conduct its measures in Camp Ashraf is tantamount to making this crisis more sophisticated and this is not a solution for this issue. He emphasized it is essential for this case to be resolved based on international standards and the Fourth Geneva Convention.
Heidar al-Mulla reiterated to implement the signed agreement between the UN delegation in Iraq with the government to relocate the camp residents is conditioned on special standards – based on international norms – being provided for at this new camp and the residents’ rights being respected, including their right to property and belongings.
