The Solidarity Congress of Iraqi People, especial session of Ashraf City neighbors, was held in Ashraf with participation of more than 1000 Iraqis on the eve of June 20, day of martyrs and political prisoners.

The participant delegations called on Iraqis for unity and solidarity and emphasized on support and companionship and solidarity with the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) as a need to overcome fundamentalism and the clerical regime’s meddling which is going to deviate the coming elections towards regime’s objectives.

The video message of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, to the Solidarity Congress was shown.

In this congress, the speakers, including a number of Iraqi tribal General Sheikhs, commemorating June 20, the day of martyrs and political prisoners, vowed to continue struggle against Iranian regime’s meddling with the slogan of rejection of the clerical regime from Iraq and attempt to maintain unity of Diyala province.
The final statement of the Congress partly reads: Today nobody has doubt that democracy and equality in Iraq passes only and only through an unremitting struggle against fundamentalism, and such a struggle is achievable only with support of Maryam Rajavi, symbol of struggle against fundamentalism and indicator of democratic Islam as its anti-thesis. We condemn dirty conspiracies of clerical regime against Ashraf City; the PMOI members are the best friends of Iraqi people that we have seen nothing but beneficence and good from them.
