The Assabah daily, the semi-official Iraqi government daily published an article on the Iraqiya Coalition leaders’ session with UN Secretary General Special Representative to Iraq Martin Kobler.
“Allawi and Mutlak discussed political developments with Kobler,” this paper wrote. “The press statement released by Saleh Mutlak’s office states in this meeting ‘the importance of measures towards Camp Ashraf in a manner that guarantees the residents’ wellbeing and protects their dignity based on international and humanitarian customs and laws’.”
Al-Sharqiya TV reported UN representative Martin Kobler in Iraq met with a delegation from the Iraqiya Coalition led by Allawi. In this meeting Ayad Allawi emphasized that in the upcoming phase it is necessary to witness the stabilization of principles of true democracy and an end to breaches of laws that a wide range of Iraq’s society is facing. On the other hand, Saleh Mutlak stressed on the UN’s role in various humanitarian, political and economic fields in Iraq.
