Ahmadinejad’s re-election is the end of moderation illusion

In a live interview with France-24 TV on June 13, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi explained the consequences of re-appointment of Ahmadinejad and its impacts on suppression, internal political surgery, nuclear weapon, terrorism, and warmongering. She also addressed the big “NO” of the Iranian people by boycotting the sham election of the religious dictatorship and all its factions by the Iranian people.

Hostess: We have Maryam Rajavi, president of he Iranian opposition movement in France; how do you assess the election’s results?

Rajavi: I should say that re-election of Ahmadinejad means that the regime will go forward to more suppression of the opposition and bloody purges, and faster move towards nuclear weapon; it will spread out more terrorism and fundamentalism in the region. This will also show that Vali-e-Faqih dictatorship will be single-legged from now on. According to information the Resistance has received from eyewitnesses from 25,000 polling stations across Iran, the real figure of the people who voted was 7.5 million; therefore, 85 percent of eligible voters boycotted this election.

Hostess: This rejects what they are talking about in Iran; they speak of an unprecedented participation, an unimaginable participation of Iranians; but what you are saying rejects it. Do you reject this election’s result? And that 80 percent of the Iranians went to the ballots?

Rajavi: Exactly; because the Iranians boycotted this elections’ show.

Hostess: But they went to the ballot-boxes extensively.

Rajavi: Unfortunately as you saw, the foreign media estimation was wrong; they thought that Moussavi would win, but you saw that in the end it was Ahmadinejad who won again by Vali-e-Faqih.

Hostess: What is your opinion of the moderate reformist and Moussavi?

Rajavi: We know that all admitted candidates for participation in the elections were from the ruling bands; they have been directly involved in suppression in Iran; one should not forget that Moussavi was the beloved Prime Minister of Khomeini during the (Iran-Iraq) war and is responsible for the massacres in prison, we are faced with an extremely weakened regime that is not able to bear the least internal opposition. Re-election of Ahmadinejad is the end of the illusion of moderation in Iran.

Hostess: Thank you for being with us.
