A delegation of Iranian Resistance in Notre Dame for memorial service of victims of Paris attacks

Thousands of French citizens gathered in front of the historic Notre Dame cathedral in Paris on November 15, hours before the start of a ceremony to pay respects to the victims of last Friday’s terrorist attacks in the French capital that claimed the lives of 129 people and injured hundreds of others.
In addition to French citizens and relatives of the victims of the November 13 attack, a large number of personalities and senior French officials, including Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo, former prime ministers Francois Fillon and Alain Juppe, former President Valery Giscard d’Estaing, and the Mayor of Paris’s 1st district Jean-Francois Legaret, participated in this memorial service amid intense security precautions.
A delegation composed of a number of members and supporters of the Iranian Resistance attended the memorial to pay their respects to the victims of this atrocity. Archbishop of Paris Andre Vingt-Trois conducted the mass in this ceremony that lasted two hours. Following the religious ceremony, the Iranian Resistance delegation laid flowers at the symbolic place for the victims of this horrendous crime.
In their interviews with the media, members of the Iranian Resistance delegation strongly condemned this atrocity and offered their sincere condolences to the families of the victims and the French people. They reminded that Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), in her message to the people and President of France had condemned this tragic crime and antihuman slaughter and stressed that it is over three decades now that the Iranian people are struggling against the suppressive and terrorist regime of the mullahs that is the ‘godfather of ISIS’.
They added that during these difficult moments, members of the Iranian Resistance completely comprehend the feelings of the French people and express their sympathy and solidarity. The NCRI believes that Islamic fundamentalism and terrorism and these antihuman crimes, whether under the pretext of Shiite Islam and the velayat-e faqih or Sunni Islam and ISIS, have nothing to do with Islam and this ominous phenomenon is the enemy of peace and humanity wherever it may be.
