600 days of protests outside UN in Geneva

Anyone opposing Iran has no security in Iraq, especially in post-Saddam era where Shiites have taken over. Yesterday in Geneva supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran gathered for the 600th consecutive day of their protests in the Nations Plaza calling on the UNHCR for immediate protection of Camp Liberty in Iraq.
PMOI members are waiting for registration to allow the UNHCR to send them to third countries in order to prevent extradition to Iran.
According to protesters Camp Liberty, where the Iraqis have sent PMOI members, is a meaningless name.
“This is a prison. Freedom of movement and minimum human rights are not provided for or respected,” Ms. Siminfar of the Committee of Ashraf Residents’ Families revealed for us.
3,500 PMOI members were living in Camp Ashraf until early this year. The Iraqi Army attempted to force them out of Ashraf by resorting to violence in April 2011. That was when this protest began outside the UN.
