13 Iraqi MPs condemn explosion of Ashraf City water pumping station

In a joint statement, 13 representatives or Iraqi Parliament from different factions condemned explosion of the Ashraf City water pumping station, and called the Multi National Forces in Iraq (MNFI) and the governmental organs to investigate this anti-humane crime and arrest and punishment of those involved in it.

This statement reads: The nationalist personalities of Iraq condemn the anti-Islamic act of exploding the water pumping station of Ashraf, where is the home to thousands of PMOI members, and supplies water to more than 20,000 deprived people in the area. The organs affiliated to the Iranian regime are responsible for this anti-human crime which had no objective other than imposing pressure on the people of Diyala. This crime will deprive the people of this region of drinking and agricultural water which was provided over previous years by the Ashraf City water pumping station.

We consider these incidents part of the scenario which was recently revealed in the media and are being carried out under the guise of defense of human rights and refugees.

We call on the MNF-I and the governmental organs to inquire this incident and ask for arrest of those involved in this anti-human crime, and resolve immediate the needs of the citizens who are inflicted due to this incident.
