One hundred French Senators, in a declaration, announced their support of the third option for democratic change in Iran presented by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi.
These senators who belong to all political parties asserted in their declaration: “Keeping the PMOI in the list is disobedience of the rule of law” and ” is on the Council of Ministers of the European Union to put into effect the legal decisions and the will of representatives of the European people.” The declaration of hundred French Senators was published in Paris by Senator Jean-Pierre Mitchel, socialist member of French senate from the Law Commission, and Senator Jean-Marc Jevillard, Senate member from the ruling Party of UMP.
The statement emphasized:”In view of the signatory senators of this declaration, an important obstacle to such a democratic change in Iran is the designation of the democratic opposition of the regime, PMOI, in the European list of terrorist organizations.”
The Senators reminded that besides the European Court of First Instance, the British government officially removed the PMOI from the British terrorist list based on the Court of Appeal’s verdict on June 24, 2008.
The statement added: “Two decades of appeasement seeking for a change of behavior of the Iranian regime has had an adverse effect and has emboldened that regime to continue suppression, export of terrorism and persisting on nuclear weapon’s program. On the path of regime change in Iran, the suggestions proposed by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and its President-elect, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, has attracted the attention and full support of the signatory Senators; these suggestions, rejecting simultaneously the appeasement and war options, presents a third option which is the democratic change in Iran by the Iranian peoples and their organized resistance.
