Kurdish girl arrested in Maku
On more Iran crackdown news, in late June a Kurdish girl was arrested along with three other citizens by security forces in the city of Maku located in Iran’s West Azerbaijan Province. The arrested girl’s name is “Gheimat” and she has been transferred to Urumieh Prison in the past few days.

Kermanshahi woman burns herself in Ilam
A 30-year old woman by the name of Maryam from the city of Kermanshah and a resident of the city of Ilam, western Iran, set herself ablaze and after being hospitalized for a day she lost her life due to the severe injuries resulting from the burns. To this day the motive for her suicide is not clear.
According to registered statistics, from March 2014 to this day 24 Kurdish women and girls in Iranian Kurdistan have committed suicide resulting in their deaths.
