Stories of the $3 billion embezzlement case in Iran by Ahmadinejad’s inner circle have also been revealed in WikiLeaks document. The story is a bit complicated.
WikiLeaks has disclosed a telegram showing how Ahmadinejad’s ring had spread their activities to Afghanistan through the main element of the $3 bn embezzlement case. It is said that so far eight banks in Iran have been involved in this huge case of fraud.
Afghanistan’s Vice President and Saeed-Lu, Ahmadinejad’s deputy, initiated three different projects financed by the Iranian regime, the WikiLeaks document revealed. These three projects consisted of: completing a portion of a highway connecting the two Afghan cities of Herat and Badfis; installing a railway from the Iranian city of Khawaf to Herat in Afghanistan; and opening a branch of Bank Arian in Herat.
The important issue is the Bank Arian branch. This bank and other travel banks named Iran-Zamin and Arian are all owned by an individual named Amir Mansour Aria. This person is the main element behind the $3 bn embezzlement. Opening a branch of Bank Arian by Ahmadinejad’s deputy in Herat shed light on this ring’s relationship with those involved in the recent fraud case in Iran.
The opening ceremony of these projects clearly shows the Iranian regime’s attempts to gain influence in Afghanistan through economic connections, WikiLeaks added.
