Based on reports from inside Iran, thousands of workers at the Mahshahr Petrochemical Complex entered their fifth day of strike. This complex is a part of the Mahshahr Special Economic District. This strike, starting with protest gatherings staged by Petrochemical Complex contract workers, has quickly spread throughout other branches of the petrochemical sector including the Amir Kabir, Khouzestan, Razi Checmicals, Tond Gouyan and Arvand petrochemical units. The workers remain united, continuing to insist on their main demands including annulling numerous middleman contractors, cancelling temporary contracts and arranging direct and group contracts with the main employers.
