
The US government said the appointment of Hamid Abutalebi as Iran’s new envoy in the United Nations is not considered appropriate. White House Press Secretary Jay Carney described the Iranian regime’s pick for the UN as disappointing, adding the US government has a similar point of view with the Senate.
The US Senate on Tuesday passed a bill saying Hamid Abutalebi, the hostage taker in the US Embassy takeover in Tehran back in 1979, has no right to enter US soil.
