
“Country Reports on Human Rights Practices”, the report released by the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor of The US State Department introduced the Iranian regime as the worst rank violator countries in the world.
In a press conference in Washington on Tuesday, Condoleezza Rice, US Secretary of State, announced publication of this report by Jonathan Farrar, Deputy Secretary of State in human rights affairs.
40 pages of the US human rights annual report describes numerous human rights violation under the mullahs’ regime in Iran including violation of rights of religious and ethnic minorities, political prisoners situation, juveniles’ execution, arbitrary arrests, torture, violation of freedom of expression, press and internet, violation of cultural freedoms and violation of freedom of gatherings.
The US State Department’s annual report on human rights stresses that the human rights situation had worsened in Iran. This report also says :” The government severely limited citizens’ right to change their government peacefully through free and fair elections.”
The report emphasizes: “the government held some persons in prison for years charged with sympathizing with outlawed groups such as the Mujahedin-e-Khalq (MEK).”
The US State Department’s annual report on human rights also called Iraq a human rights violator country, and enumerated sectarianism, arbitrary arrests and murders, vanishing of citizens, torture, bad judicial situation, violation of freedom of religion, expression, press, gathering and replacement, lack of support of refugees and corruption in all governmental levels.
