The United Nations Security Council issued a statement supporting the Yemenis government and calling on the Howthi armed group to end its armed attacks against the government of this country. The Security Council also warned that sanctions will be implemented against this group. In this statement, signed by all 15 members of the Security Council, the measures of the Howthi group have been condemned.
This Security Council statement says targeted sanctions such as blocking assets or banning trips to those that threaten Yemen’s security can be effective in security and peace in the region.
On Wednesday, Yemenis President Abed Raboo Mansour Hadi accused Iran of supporting the Howthi group, adding Iran wants to turn Sana’a into Damascus.
