UN Human Rights session concern of human rights aggravation in Iran

UN Human Rights session concern of human rights aggravation in Iran

In the eighth session of UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, the Slovenian representative, on behalf of the European Union, as well as representatives of France, Canada and Iceland expressed concern over the aggravation of human rights condition in Iran.

Andrej Logar, Slovenian representative whose country chairs periodical presidency of EU, said: The EU is particularly concerned of the religious discrimination by the clerical regime.

In the session of UN Human Rights Council that has started since June 2 in Geneva, Jean Baptiste Mattei, on behalf of France, expressed concern over the human rights condition in Iran and said that the Iranian officials prevent freedom of thought, expression and press severely.

Marius Grinius, Canadian representative, also declared that respect for human rights in Iran is worsening day by day.

In her speech, Mrs. Ingibjorg Daviosdottir, Iceland representative, expressed her country’s concern about Iran’s employing of death sentence for those who have changed the faith.
