U.S. House and the White House on path to a face-off over Iran sanctions

A U.S. congressional panel on Thursday cleared legislation that could derail White House efforts to lift sanction on Iran as a prize for the mullahs to give up their quest for nuclear weapon’s program. This could set up a potential showdown with WH over. President Barack Obama’s signature foreign policy legacy.
The Republican-led House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee approved the measure by a voice vote, setting it up for consideration by the full House next week.
The “Iran Terror Finance Transparency Act” would increase lawmakers’ oversight of the Iran agreement announced in July.
