U.S. Condemns Suppression of Media and Freedom of Expression in Iran

In a statement, US State Department condemned suppression of press and freedom of expression by the mullahs’ regime and asked for annulment of death sentence for two Iranian Kurd’s journalists.

According to Reuters: Sean McCormack, US State Department’s Spokesman, announced in this statement:” The reports of rising suppression of media in Iran draws a dark picture of what is happening in Iran. A significant number of Iranian publishers and reporters have been harassed and convicted and this is indication of the Iranian regime’s intolerance to freedom of expression.

The US State Department’s Spokesman added: “With releasing the death sentence verdicts for Adnan Hassanpour, journalist, and Abdulvahed Boutimar, author and environmental activist, the Iranian regime showed its intention to trample the citizens’ rights and ignore the most preliminary criterion of international behavior.”
