The Iranian regime & its desperate search for Europe’s aid

Iran, May 21, 2018 – Only ten days after U.S. President Donald Trump announced his country’s exit from the Iran nuclear deal, a large number of major European companies are one after another pulling out of their business engagements with Tehran.

This is sinking deep for the Iranian regime as its senior diplomats, including foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, are seen going across the globe and throughout Europe in search of a life rope following the current developments in relation to the future of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

After Iranian regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei himself said he doesn’t trust the so-called European Troika, Zarif’s latest remarks also send this message from Tehran that Europe’s political support in the face of U.S.’ pullout means nothing, considering the fact that large private companies in the Green Continent are not listening to their governments and choosing to abide by Washington’s increasing round of sanctions.

The French energy giant Total led the pack by announcing if U.S. waivers are not provided this company will be forced to bring its involvement in phase 11 of Iran’s South Pars gas field to a standstill.

Germany’s Siemens also abandoned ship, announcing they can no longer launch new business deals with the Iranian regime. German insurance companies and banks have also called it quits in Iran.

Italy’s Eni energy company also couldn’t neglect the damning impact of the U.S. exiting the JCPOA, halting its business relations with Tehran.

Rest assured this trend will be expanding in the near future. What is crystal clear is that the Iranian regime, despite claims of setting the JCPOA ablaze, desperately needs the agreement to remain intact.

While Europe may seek to maintain its interests in Iran, it is quite obvious it will never endanger its interests in the U.S. over the Iranian regime. This is exactly why Tehran’s diplomats are scrambled to as many places as possible to both save face and to even beg, if needed, to preserve the Iran nuclear deal.

This is adding insult to injury for the Iranian regime as it struggles to keep a lid on a growing number of protests throughout the country.
