Tehran University students protest against suppression in universities

Following a suicide attempt by a PHD level student last year, a number of Tehran University students gathered in the main university campus to protest against the heavy suppressive security climate in both the society and universities. They shouted slogans against university authorities.
Students said Hossein Khojasteh-Nia who committed suicide last year did not have any illnesses or any other problems. His suicide can only be blamed on the repressive measures and pressures imposed on the students and also their economic conditions.
Students were carrying placards reading:
Yet another student committed suicide!
Ironically one Ph.D. law student of Tehran University chose suicide as a way to continue his life!
Zealous student, support! Support!
Another suicide, why concealment!
And another placard asking for the resignation of the University President
Students say the university authorities have covered up this incident and on the university website  announced that the cause of death of this genius, who has written many articles was concussion due to faint!
Students planned to have another demonstration on Sunday to protest the shocking number of suicides in recent years due to suffocating and suppressive condition imposed on Ph.D. students in the university.
