A number of computer store owners in Yaran Mall, at Kashani Blvd, west of Tehran went on strike closing down their shops in protest to the high increase in the cost of rent and taxes planned by the government. This is the second time that these store owners are complaining of the unbalanced increase in the cost of rents and other utility bills and insurances. They say that the government is raising the cost for average people and merchants to cover for the loss of resources and incomes it should be getting from the country’s wealth like oil and gas.
Since the drop in the price of oil in Iran, the government has been resorting to a number of back breaking tools for the people to substitute the drastic budged deficit it is faced with including increasing the price of bread and other basic commodities.
