Tehran residents protest housing crisis

NCRI, 5 Feb 2013 – A group of Tehran residents staged a protest in central Tehran on Monday against the housing crisis in the country’s capital, according to information received from inside the country. The received photo shows a group of residents is Tehran’s Vali-e-Asr Street protesting the high prices of housing in Tehran.
Even before the Iranian currency reached its all-time low of almost 40,000 rials against the dollar on February 2nd, it was almost impossible for young people in Tehran to afford purchasing a home without financial assistance from others. It is not just the lower class that has such difficulty. Even the middle-class is greatly affected by skyrocketing housing prices in Iran.
