According to information received from inside Iran, over 6000 striking textile sellers staged a protest gathering in front of the Malek Mosque near Tehran’s Bazaar.
“We will continue our strike and protest until we see the official order with our own eyes,” the protesters said in response to the state-run textile union’s promises to resolve the value added tax increase. The Iranian regime dispatched its special Anti-Riot units to surround the Ark Square, fearing the spread of protests into huge demonstration.
