Mullah Ahmad Khatami in Tehran’s Friday prayers used the tribune to attack former Iranian president Hashemi Rafsanjani.
Regarding the recent calls for free elections from inside the regime itself, he said: “These calls were brought from abroad from pathetic people who I don’t want to name. These people are so pathetic they don’t even deserve to have their names mentioned here.”
Recently there have been many indications of high tensions before the June presidential elections in Iran, with unprecedented internal disputes and feuds already flaming up.
