Iraqiya Coalition leader Ayad Allawi warned about the Iranian regime’s meddling in Iraq, adding these interferences will have negative consequences for the mullahs in the long run.
“The Iranian regime interferes in Iraq’s internal affairs,” Allawi said in an interview with al-Hurra TV. “Tehran’s interferences have not been focused on me personally; in fact it has been against Iraqiya’s agenda, character and policies, considering it as a red line. This is what high-ranking leaders of the region have told me. They have informed me that the Iranian regime has problems with the Iraqiya Coalition and you personally because your agenda is completely different.”
Asked your agenda is different in comparison to whose? Allawi said, “With the Iranian regime’s agenda and trends. We do not believe in politicizing religion and political sectarianism. We do not want any country in the region to interfere in our internal affairs.”
