A group of young men from Hafiz district of Tehran on Sunday clashed with a number of Basij militants who were harassing young women under the pretext of ’mal-veiling’. The Basij militants were out powered and eventually fled the neighborhood.
The cruel and barbaric acid attack on young women and girls which is mostly blamed on Basij gangsters has concerned many in Iranian cities. So these young men’s reaction to defend the women of their neighborhood is seen as a heroic act by the Iranians.
