
The number of cities joining the nationwide teachers’ demonstration in Iran has reached 40 so far and as reports from different cities trickle, other cities are also taking part in this nationwide teachers’ protest.
The protesting teachers carry placards demanding the freedom of incarcerated teachers and an end to the repression and tyranny against teachers. They also demanded better living condition for the teachers and payment of their backed up salaries.
Cities in which there has been demonstration reported in them are: Tehran, Mashhad, Tabriz, Shiraz, Hamadan, Sanandaj, Meshkin Shahr, Ilam, Urumia, Sari, Ahar, Kermanshah, Nahavand, Kerman, Ahwaz, Birjand, Abhar, Abadan, Ardebil, Saveh, Bojnoord, Dezful, Borujerd, Zahedan, Qazvin, Zanjan, West Islam-Abad, Kashan, Marivan, Javanrood, Paveh, Karaj, Bushehr, Piranshahr, Isfahan and Qorveh and a number of other cities.
At two sites in Tehran, teachers have been protesting in front of the parliament and ministry of Education office.
