Workers at the Tabas coal mine, located in northeastern Iran, had warned of safety defects and the possibility of an explosion in this mine 8 months prior to the recent horrific incident.
According to the mullahs’ state-run Labor news agency, these mine workers had issued a statement dating 2 May 2012 to Mohammad Karim Abedi, member of Iran’s Majlis (parliament) warning of lack of safety precautions and mismanagement at the Tabas coal mine which places the lives of mine workers in danger.
Unfortunately, eight workers lost their lives in the recent explosion at the Tabas coal mine.
