Sunni prisoners in Iran placed under pressure, restrictions

According to reports from inside Iran, Nasiripour, considering himself the observing judge of Gohardasht Prison in Karaj, west of Tehran, has made new threats against Sunni inmates in this jail.
“Based on a request placed forward by the Ministry of Intelligence, no (Sunni inmate held in hall 21) are to receive any legal concessions, including furloughs, conditioned releases, specific amnesties or transfer to your town prisons. You will also be deprived of other concessions the other inmates enjoy,” he said.
Prior to this another official, known as the prison security chief, had told these prisoners, “In Syria our people are being killed by those believing in your faith. And you expect us to release you?”
These inhumane pressures and restrictions are being imposed at a time when more than 50 Sunni prisoners are currently detained in hall 21 of Gohardasht Prison.
