Sugar factory workers in Ahvaz stage protest gathering

Workers of a sugar factory in the southwestern Iranian city of Ahvaz, capital of Khuzestan Province, staged a protest gathering outside the regime’s governorate office. These workers have not received their salaries or benefits for the past 22 months.
The regime’s officials have not paid these workers’ insurance benefits while the Ministry of Industry owns this factory. In the past three years due to uncontrolled imports of sugar and sugar cubes, this factory has been working at only 20% of its capacity. To this day, these workers have staged protest gatherings demanding their salaries, receiving no responses from the regime’s officials.
