Iran, Apr 20, 2018— On Medical Laboratory Day, a group of students and laboratory experts gathered in protest to the medical system at the same time as protesting their guild affairs in front of the Iran Medical Council in Tehran.
The protesters gathered to protest the entry of unrelated fields in the field of laboratory science, the removal of Ph.D. in this field, the lack of medical license and the high level of hard work and low salaries in this field. This protest was simultaneous with Iran’s National Medical Laboratory Day.
According to one student, “The Laboratory Society, given the difficulty of working abundantly, has a very low salary, while the entry of unrelated fields into this profession has jeopardized the employment and labor market of the field, which is a source of dissatisfaction for the educated workers and students.”
Another protester emphasized the difficulty of work in this area and said: “Another issue that prompted the community of medical laboratories of the country to protest has been the hard working situation, which can almost be said that we can by no means use the hard labor law. We are also subject to exposure to radioactive materials but we have very low levels of wages.”
