Saudi Arabia has refused Iran’s request to hold a meeting in New York between the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, and the Saudi foreign minister, Adel Al-Jubeir, reported Al-Hayat on Sept. 27, 2015. 
 
Diplomatic sources claim that the Iranians wanted the meeting to focus only on the Eid al-Adha disaster and not on regional issues such as Syria and Yemen.
