Saudi Arabia: Iran spy trial, Iranian intelligence tried to recruit more people

RIYADH — The Criminal Court trying the ring of spies for Iran have been told that the fourth suspect who was accused of photographing military installations for Iran, refused to appear before the court.
The Criminal Court instructed that the fourth suspect Tuesday, be brought next time.
The defendant, according to the attorney general, had received a tiny camera from Iranian intelligence elements in Malaysia to capture the Kingdom’s vital military installations.
The court on Monday heard the first and second suspects. It was supposed to listen to the third and fourth suspects on Tuesday but the fourth suspect refused to appear before it while the third was present.
In every session, the court listens to two defendants individually until it has heard all 32 suspects accused of spying for Iran.
The third defendant, who was represented by his wife, asked the court to give him more time to prepare his reply to the charges against him.
The court responded to his request asking him to be ready with his reply for the next hearing next month.
The wife repeated his request to prevent journalists from attending the court session, but the judge refused the request.
The third suspect was facing a number of charges including his assignment by Iranian intelligence elements to recruit qualified people to work for the Iranian Al-Alam Arabic space channel from the Kingdom to achieve its objective to defame Saudi Arabia and create chaos in the country.
