Rouhani’s Government Blocking 6400 Websites Daily

10 June 2017— Mahomoud Vaezi minister of communication of the Iranian regime announced that millions of internet addresses, softwares and VPN were blocked during the 3 past years.

Minister of communication and information also said at a session of Regime’s parliament on Tuesday 6 June, that in the 3 last years of Rouhani’s administration, 7 million websites and 121 VPN and software were phased out.

Rouhani’s Minister of communication also said that his ministry has found an agreement with TELEGRAM directors about blocking posts with sexual or pedophile subjects or promoting violence, terrorism and anti-religion phrases.

Although TELEGRAM directors had already denied collaborating with the Iranian government.

In addition to blocking more than 7 million websites, software and VPN in the 3 last years, filtering of social media as Facebook and Twitter as well as blocking foreign News websites have continued during Rouhani.

Blocking voice-chat application of TELEGRAM is one of the recent examples of restrictions imposed on these popular services in Iran.

At that time, Iranian regime’s prosecutor who is also the director of “Definition criminal subjects” said that according to all security, intelligence and law institutions, TELEGRAM’s voice-chat is considered as a security threat.

In order to further impose censorship, Rouhani’s government, in addition to filtering, follows a plan called “National intelligence network”.

Construction and implementing this plan has started several years ago with a heavy financial investment and two first phases of this plan have terminated during the current administration
