Rafsanjani’s son accused of spying, disrupting economic security: source

One day after Iran’s former president Hashemi Rafsanjani questioned the regime’s sham elections, the Fars news agency – affiliated to the Revolutionary Guards – wired a report citing an informed source saying Rafsanjani’s son has been accused of spying and disrupting the country’s economic security.
This source, whose name has not been disclosed, said up to this point four main accusations have been raised against Mehdi Hashemi Rafsanjani. Spying and transferring sensitive information to outsiders were among the allegations related to Mehdi Hashemi, the source added.
Disrupting the country’s economic structure is among the other crimes affiliated to Mehdi Hashemi, the report continues.
“Mehdi Hashemi has been hospitalized in the VIP section of Day Hospital for illnesses…However, doctors have not approved this patient’s illness,” the report continues.
