
A group of Qom Open University students protesting increasing tuition fees on Wednesday, July 16th, rallying outside the university’s financial director’s office. These tuition fees for the summer semester have increased 50% in comparison to last year.
Plainclothes agents in Tehran beat two workers on Monday, July 14th, while they were just waiting in line to purchase bread. This led to increasing anger amongst the people at the site. In response the two plainclothes showed their security cards and began yelling at the people and threatening whoever wants to eat in public during fasting hours will see major action. This raised increasing hatred amongst the people.
A group of workers in the Fardis power plant in Karaj, west of Tehran, rallied on Tuesday, July 15th, protesting low wages and delay in receiving insurance pensions. They signed a joint letter expressing their protests in this regard. Based on the latest reports received the Iranian regime’s agents fired all workers who signed this letter.
According to reports received a number of youths on Wednesday, July 16th, in a Tehran Park clashed with a number of security agents who intended to harass and bother her. The repressive police intended to create a climate of fear for the people there and shot bird shots. Based on this report the criminal agents arrested three of the youths.
The residents of a village near the city of Bandar Abbas in southern Iran clashed with repressive state agents on Tuesday, July 15th. In these scuffles the criminal agents injured two of the individuals and they were transferred to a hospital. The reason behind the people’s protests and clashes is that state security forces are harassing the people of this region under the pretext of smuggling fuel. In a recent incident they opened fire on people and murdered them.
