Protest gatherings in numerous Iranian cities

Tehran:
The residents of Sabzdasht in Tehran held a rally outside the electricity department and municipality on May 5th protesting power cut-offs.
Hyperstar store owners in Tehran went on strike on Thursday, May 8th, protesting not receiving their wages for the past two months.

Bushehr:

Taxi drivers in the city of Kongan in Bushehr Province (southern Iran) went on strike protesting increasing gasoline prices. This strike, starting from early last week, continues to this very day. Taxi drivers in Bushehr also staged gatherings on Sunday, May 4th, and Tuesday, May 6th, outside the regime’s governor office and protested increasing gasoline prices.

Karaj:
A group taxi drivers in the city of Karaj, west of Tehran, held a gathering on Wednesday, May 7th, protesting the mullahs’ refusal to replace old and worn-out taxi cabs.

Isfahan:
The strike of nearly 140 truck owners in the city of Naein in Isfahan continues to this day. These truck owners, carrying chicken from henhouses to slaughterhouses, protested increasing fuel prices and they have been on strike for 4 days.

Ahvaz:
Contract workers of the Ahvaz water and sewage department held a gathering outside the city’s labor square on Tuesday, May 6th, protesting not receiving their paychecks for the past 5 months.


Workers of the Dena Tire Company held a protest gathering after asking for their demands on Monday, May 5th, at the company branch office. The workers were insulted by IRGC member Safavi (the brother of former IRGC chief Rahim Safavi) and that was when they launched their protest gathering.
It is worth noting that this company came under the control of the IRGC last year as a result of internal disputes amongst the Iranian regime’s internal ranks. Rahim Safavi is currently the owner of this company.
