Protest against Iranian regime president in New York

Iranian opposition movement issued a statement that al-Sharq al-Owsat international daily received a copy of that saying Iranian-American organizations are rallying today, Monday in New York against Iranian regime president Hassan Rouhani’s presence at the UN General Assembly. The statement says that the Organization of Iranian American Communities, OIAC, has called for a demonstration in New York on Monday to protest that deteriorating situation of human rights and the soaring wave of executions in Iran under the Rouhani government. So far, since the Rouhani has been in office in Iran more than 2,000 people have been executed.
The demonstration is aimed at expressing deep concerns by the UN chief, Ban Ki moon and the human rights rapporteur on the unprecedented violation of human rights during Rouhani tenor. Despite Rouhani’s efforts to show a moderate face of him in the international community and amongst the US officials, the situation of human rights during his time in office has been the worst in recent years.
That is why many American dignitaries and personalities including people’s representatives at the Congress have been repeatedly warning of consequences of rapprochement with this brutal regime.
