Pipe factory workers staged protest for second consecutive day

Workers of the Khuzestan Pipe Factory workers on Sunday staged a protest gathering for the second consecutive day outside the factory in Ahvaz, demanding 20-month delayed salaries.
On Saturday, the Khuzestan Pipe Factory workers, with placards in hand, staged a rally in protest to unpaid wages by the factory employers and the closure of the factory. The protesters marched towards the city Prosecutor’s Office in Ahvaz, with the protest lasting until 1230 p.m.
The workers staged these demonstrations after one week of protest gatherings outside the Governorate Office in Ahvaz.
Officials at the Governorate Office refused to respond to the workers’ demands, referring the workers to the Prosecutor’s Office.
Workers’ placards carried writings such as: “Khuzestan Pipe Factory – Careless to the Province” and “Khuzestan Pipe Factory – Closed down in Province.” The workers had written in another placard: “We, the workers of the Khuzestan Pipe Factory, demand our 20-month delayed salaries.”
