Ahmad Zakani, member of the mullahs’ parliament, described the Ahmadinejad-Mashaii faction as “corrupt” and “dangerous” and called on the regime’s elements to take this threat seriously.
“The deviant current intended to infiltrate into the Ministry of Intelligence (MOIS) and establish a deviant unit for itself,” reports published in state-run media cited Zakani as saying. “A number of these individuals have heavy criminal cases and they intended to take these files out of the MOIS. They also intended to exploit a number of other files and use them in deals with various judges to release specific individuals from prison…”
“This current is corrupt and dangerous. We must take this phrase seriously and not imagine that it has been simply stated by a number of high-ranking individuals,” Zakani said expressing serious concern about the increasing crisis at the top of the mullahs’ hierarchy. “This current is very dangerous.”
