The French government emphasized the necessity of sanctions and to implement UN Security Council resolutions against Iran, adding this regime’s activities are not intended for non-military purposes.
Iran must abide by its international obligations under the framework of the UNSC and IAEA Board of Governors’ resolutions, the French Foreign Ministry spokesman said.
In the current conditions, this regime has not abided by such obligations and as a result, a collection of sanctions have been imposed by European countries and the United States. We will discuss this issue in the IAEA Board of Governors’ session because this regime blocks inspections by the Agency and continues uranium enrichment, which has no non-military use, the spokesman added.
In response to a question regarding recent remarks made by the mullahs’ envoy in Paris on stopping uranium enrichment, the French Foreign Ministry spokesman said Iran’s envoy in Paris is not the interlocutor in this regard.
