New tensions erupted in Iran’s Majlis (parliament) over the evaluation of the plan to reform the regime’s presidential elections and led to tension, the state-run Fars news agency reported.
This is while the evaluation of these reforms was not in the Majlis’ daily agenda. A number of Majlis members accused speaker Larijani of seeking to become president and eliminate his opponents.
“This plan is in contrast with a number of principles in the constitution,” warned Majlis member Ghazipoor.
“There are rumors that you and your colleagues intend to run for the presidency and through this plan intend to eliminate your opponents,” he warned Larijani.
