Rouhani’s minister of interior in a meeting on Thursday, May 22nd, revealed in Iran under the mullahs’ regime the consumption of narcotics has reached over 1.5 tons a day.
“There are at least 1,325,000 addicts roaming the country, and considering the family factor one can assume that 5.5 million people in Iran are involved with problems caused by drug addiction,” he said.
“According to investigations, 53% of all the addicts are married. Taking these statistics into consideration, unfortunately 700,000 spouses are involved in drug addiction and if each of these married drug addicts have two children, one can say 1.4 million children in troubled families are involved with drug addiction problems in their lives,” the minister continued.
The regime’s interior minister said 55% of all the divorces taking place in Iran are influenced by drug addiction. Last year, around 570 tons of various types of drugs were discovered and confiscated, and this amount of drugs found is equal to the amount consumed inside the country, and according to investigations it shows a 17% increase in comparison to last year,” he added.
“According to forensics statistics, 9 people lose their lives on a daily basis in our country due to consuming drugs,” the minister continued.
