The Fars news agency (affiliated to the Iranian regime’s terrorist-designated Revolutionary Guards) said the Iranian regime is the actual goal of those seeking to overthrow Bashar Assad’s dictatorship.
“Although it may seem that the “Arab Spring” is now currently leaning towards Damascus, one can actually say that the strategic goal is Tehran,” Fars cited an article published in a Turkish daily as saying. “There are also attempts to place enormous pressure on the Iranian regime, for example, through the latest IAEA report to make Tehran so entangled with its own dilemmas that it won’t think about its strategic ally in the region. The US and its partners are now attempting to use the revolution in Libya as an example to intervene in Syria. It appears that the regional and world powers to prepare the conditions for the Syrian armed rebels.”
This Iranian regime state-run media also wrote: “The requests of two of Iraq’s Sunni provinces bordering Syria to establish a federal government are the beginning of the Arab Spring in Iraq with US support… and … with the experience they have gained in Libya’s Benghazi, they can use these two provinces as the ‘Benghazi’ of Syria.”
