State-run media in Iran are expressing concerns on the appointment of the new US National Security Advisor, considering this as a sign of harshening of Obama’s policies on the Iranian regime.
State-run Raja News published a lengthy article on the background of Obama’s newly appointed National Security Advisor Tom Donilon. This article goes, “Tom Donilon has a more extreme stance on Iran, in a manner that he views Iran as the most important threat facing the US.”
Citing The Washington Post, this state-run media wrote: “In White House security meetings, Donilon always supports harder sanctions and punishing packages against the Islamic Republic of Iran. He also suggests an all-around diplomacy against the Iranian government.”
This report continues, “Observers say the rise of figures who consider the Iranian government as a serious threat is a sign of an increase of anti-Iranian approach in Obama’s policies. Especially by choosing people like Tom Donilon who view the “Iranian regime threat” as the main threat for the US.
