The commander of the mullahs’ repressive State Security Forces in Iran’s East Azerbaijan Province claimed PMOI members were among those civilians who rushed to the help of their fellow countrymen after last month’s deadly twin quakes in this region, the state-run Fars news agency reported.
The SSF commander said these civilians entered the area as medics while PMOI members were also among them.
“During the recent earthquake a number of dissident networks sought their own biased goals,” Esmaeelzadeh said while adding 20 people in total were arrested. “SSF units were able to identify and arrest them. These individuals had entered the region mainly as medics and fugitive prisoners and PMOI members can be seen among those arrested. This was a publicity stunt, dispatching their personnel in the guise of medics and distributing items that were in ways propaganda against the Islamic republic.”
