Iran has resorted to numerous arrests in an attempt to control the unstable conditions in Tehran’s Bazaar. “Arresting moneychangers that started in the past few days entered a new phase on Monday. Security police arrested a number of moneychangers today,” the state-run Mehr news agency – affiliated to the Intelligence Ministry – reported.
“Based on reports by the related forces, to this day 30 currency market disruptors have been arrested and the confessions made by some of them have been very significant,” it added in order to spread more fear.
