Cleric Ahmad Jannati, one of Tehran’s Friday prayer leaders, revealed that the individual who embezzled $ 3 billion paid $5.2 million in bribes to various Iranian regime officials.
In a part of his speech during the Friday sermon, he pointed to the disclosure of enormous embezzlements which has caused internal fighting between the regime’s factions, saying it is obvious that corruption was huge.
“What kind of weakness the banking system has had, that they could defraud?” he asked.  “It is certain that a huge bribe was paid and the offender confessed that he paid $5.2 million as inducement.”
