Market for newborns in Iran through State sanctioned groups

Director General of the Tehran Province Social and Cultural Affairs said we have to accept the fact that a percentage of the newborns being sold in Tehran are in an organized manner.
“Various women who are addicted prostitutes or considered prostitutes actively working on the streets are seen selling their newborns since they have no custodians or insurance, and there is no individual to take care of their children,” said Siavash Shahrivar.
Around 80% of these women, a significant number of their children are suffering from HIV, he added.
“Unfortunately, there still is no comprehensive social system to cover these individuals. Under such circumstances there is no other choice left for these women,” Shahrivar continued.
