A member of the mullahs’ Majlis (parliament) from Khamenei’s faction warned Ahmadinejad not to interfere in the affairs of the Revolutionary Guards.
“The IRGC carries out its missions under Khamenei’s supervision,” Majlis Security Commission chair Haghighat-poor said in response to Ahmadinejad’s suggestion for the IRGC to sell its real estate to provide financial support for his government.
“Ahmadinejad cannot issue orders for the IRGC. The Guards is a military organization that stores its assets for special occasions,” he added.
“It would be better for the government to first sell its own beach villas. Of course, they can also sell their sports clubs and recreational centers in the north and inside the cities. The Interior Ministry has a palace in Mahmoud Abad district. All ministries have hotels in Mashhad. They can go sell their hotels and all the problems will be solved,” Haghighat-poor continued.
